When standing on a yoga mat, it shows the harmony of movement and mentality

Times

When we step onto the yoga mat every morning and start daily practice, we look forward to the progress of today's practice, the advancement and stability of individual asanas, the breakthrough of this or that, the special care of the teacher, or the flexibility of the body, or practice Refreshing afterwards?

Will today's practice be a good practice?

In fact, every day is a good day, as long as you start on the mat-today’s practice is a good practice...

Because the true achievements of yoga always come inadvertently and will not match your expectations... Don't expect, start, ekam inhales and raises your arms; today's practice only requires you to dedicate your complete sincerity.

In the philosophy of yoga, an important and much-spoken concept is non-attachment. That is to say, yogis must act, but do not have any attachments to the results of the actions. In the classic Yoga Sutra of yoga, Patanjali says that non-attachment means that a person has achieved conscious self-control, and thus is liberated from all the phenomena that he sees and hears. (I.15). But for most of us, this concept sounds easy, and it's almost impossible to do it. This concept is almost the opposite of our society and the cultural indoctrination in which we live, because we are educated from an early age to pursue socially recognized status, whether it is material, spiritual or reputation; from school to work, we are educated to work hard. To move forward, faster, higher, and stronger. So if you don’t cling to a purpose, it seems that you have no motivation to act. For modern people, this sounds very "counter-cultural." Wouldn't people who take the initiative to be a goalless, pursued, and indifferent person be eliminated by the society of survival of the fittest?

When understanding this concept, most people have some misunderstandings. Non-attachment does not mean indifference, lack of passion or numbness. Not being attached to the result of the action does not mean that you don't care about how the behavior unfolds, how it happens, and what happens at every point in your behavior. In other words, non-attachment is not negativity and giving up. Not being attached does not mean that we don't need to set goals. Goals are very important. Goals give us action, energy and direction. But if we know that we have no control over anything that happens outside of ourselves in this world; the goal we are running towards and the story of the whole process, the universe may rewrite the whole script every second, accident and fate will inevitably change at any time Counterattack the entire path you are running, and we have exhausted our power; it is still possible that this goal cannot be achieved. If the goal is our attachment, then it is destined to be disappointment-you feel that all your efforts have not brought the expected results; this feeling makes you very disappointed and empty; you may say: No, many people’s goals It can be achieved. What I saw in my Moments are all successful? But the secret of a universe is: the joy of successfully reaching the goal is like a soap bubble just blown out, and it will be replaced by the emptiness where the goal is not in the blink of an eye, and what follows is the attachment to the next larger goal. Just like the delivery of express delivery, the joy of unpacking the delivered items does not last long; it quickly evolved into anxiety about the next shopping; there is no settlement, only chasing.

Attachment, there must be an object of attachment, a target. When there is a target, you are destined to miss it-when you fail to reach it, you will be discouraged and frustrated; when you reach it, you will feel full of emptiness.

For yogis, there is a very simple answer: the journey itself is the destination.

It sounds simple, but it's so difficult. We need to spend a long time practicing to cultivate such a non-attachment ability. Our practice on the yoga mat is such a kind of practice: this is another article I wrote-practice has no purpose, practice itself is the subject of purpose (click me to read). We stand on a yoga mat and start to practice a breath. For some people, it takes more than an hour to complete a task/clock in. For some people, it is the number of calories burned. For others, it is relaxation after sweating. For some people, I’m one step closer to headstand; but for a real yoga person, this exercise should be a stretch with every breath, a smooth exhalation, slightly stretched muscle fibers, and skeletal joints. , The joy of the energy moving in the body, the usual thoughts in the mind come and go... Journey is the destination Let’s look at another example: everyone loves to travel, but most people’s travel is to "visit here" After passing by the self-portrait mode, one by one the stamps of the destinations on the travel passport, you can post the beautiful scenery, landmarks and selfies of the circle of friends.. But the journey of a yogi may also be to stop and squat on the ground to see an unknown grass , There is no reason to just stay at the next stop without having to do nothing, watching children playing on the street in the sunset, and smoking a local hookah with the elderly.. Travel is not for covering distance, not for redeeming miles, no In order to freeze the memories with the camera, there is no need to share your shots, just to breathe a different air. The freshness of life can only be experienced, not shared... Just like I heard a teacher's rough saying: You can only share pork with others, you can't share pigs. So if you see the full screen pork in Moments, you still can't experience the joys and sorrows and daily life of those living pigs.
